Festo's Story...
This is the story of Festo, a 10-year old boy from Mbarara
District. Festo lived alone with his mother – his father and two

Joy...
Baby Joy (left) came to Holy
Innocents in mid-2010 as a
critically ill infant. Our medical team gave her
the same high level of care that
we give all children, and Baby
Joy recovered completely. Her father wrote us, “I
really thank God for the work
you are doing on the lives of
our children in Uganda….
My Baby Joy got enough care from
this hospital and now she is
well
since July.”Recently we received another message: “I
hope you remember us. I am Joy's father and i wanted to tell you
that she is doing well and these days she has started to take
some stapes [steps] in walking…. So we thank God for you and we
pray that He bless you because your team saved Joy.” Thanks to
all our supporters who help save children like Baby Joy!

Latest Medical Mission Brings Training, Treatment to Children of
Mbarara
Oct. 2010 - Twenty-two medical professionals and
students from around the world, including personnel from
University of San Diego, Children’s Hospital Oakland and
AmeriCares, spent eight days working at Holy Innocents
Children’s Hospital (HICH) in Mbarara this summer.
Our team
brought 1,000 pounds of supplies to HICH: IVs, medications,
suture supplies, oxygen tubing/masks/CPAP devices, stethoscopes
and more.They
established a neonatal intensive care unit (NICU) in Ward II to
help severely ill newborns being transferred to HICH from a
local government hospital.During the trip alone seven newborns were treated and
saved who would have died if the NICU had not been operational.
