Do A School Fundraiser
If you’d like to get your school or your children’s school involved, we can provide.
- A DVD that gives a brief background to the problem of childhood disease in Uganda and what we’re doing about it
- A flier that you can give to classmates that explains how they can help
Email us at email@example.com to let us know that you’d like to do a school fundraiser.
Note: If you’re in the San Diego area and would like someone from Holy Innocents to come speak at your school, send us an email to ask about our availability.
Involve Your Local Service Organization
Do you belong to a local community service organization, like Kiwanis, Knights of Columbus, Lions, or Rotary? We encourage you to speak with your members and consider a donation to Holy Innocents consistent with your focus.
You may want to earmark a donation to help fund our vision clinic or immunization clinic, or help underwrite the cost of adding a new wing to the hospital.
If you’re interested, contact firstname.lastname@example.org.
Host A Benefit Event
Are you interested in hosting a benefit event for HI – a dinner, dance, concert or similar? HI would be happy to provide you with an DVD that describes the problem of childhood disease in Mbarara, Uganda and what we’re doing about it.
If the event is in the vicinity of one of our team, we’d be happy to join you and speak with your audience.
Occasionally our partners from Mbarara visit the US and are available to speak at benefits as well.
To learn more, contact email@example.com.
Invite Your Friends To Get Involved
Spread the word!
We rely heavily on word-of-mouth to get our message out. If you’d like to share our site with friends and family, here’s a sample message you can send. Feel free to cut and paste it into an email or letter, add any additional comments you would like, and send it to friends and family members. We sincerely thank you for helping us in this way!
Subject: Want to help build the first children’s hospital in Uganda?
I’m writing you today to tell you about an effort I believe in: building a children’s malaria hospital in Mbarara, Uganda.
In Uganda, 1 child in 7 dies before age 5. In Mbarara District alone, 13,000 children under 5 die every year – thousands more ages 6 to 12. That’s like a jumbo jet full of children crashing every week…. Over 60% of these children die from malaria, respiratory infection and dysentery. These diseases are eminently treatable. Children can be saved if hospitalization and treatment is available, but currently there is no children’s hospital in Uganda.
A non-profit called Holy Innocents Children’s Hospital Uganda is funding a dedicated hospital for the children of Mbarara. It has an experienced team of business people, medical professionals and clergy in the US, all volunteering their time and working with a very capable Ugandan team of doctors, nurses, clergy and other professionals. The Ugandan team is managed by the Catholic Diocese of Mbarara, which has an established track record designing, building and operating hospitals and clinics.
Mbarara Diocese has already donated the building site for the children’s hospital. What is needed now is funding to build and equip the first wing of the new hospital.
Holy Innocents is spreading the word about this effort, to generate awareness and funding. Would you take a few minutes to look at their website, www.holyinnocentsuganda.org?
And – VERY IMPORTANT – since Holy Innocents relies heavily on word-of-mouth to get its message out, I’d like to ask you to share this message with your friends and family. You can use the sample email text here or write your own message.
Thanks so much for your help!
